Carol King, Indianapolis, Indiana, is known by many in our community and across state lines for the work she has done in community affairs, service to the needy, and her executive leadership in the field of property management. She will be remembered as a strong woman who excelled in many areas, and many will recall her behind the scene work in helping others, sharing her talents, giving items of value to a number of individuals. Many who knew her, have something in their homes that will always remind them of her unselfish nature, and I am sure times where her counsel and wisdom was given, even unsolicited will not flee our memory.
Carol attended IPS #26 where she excelled in classes from kindergarten to the sixth grade. After elementary school, Carol attended Shortridge High School, graduating in three years. Her next stop was at Indiana University (Indianapolis Campus) where she earned her degree in Radiology. It must have been her drive to help others that prompted her into move to the field of property management.
Carol loved family. She was a faithful and dedicated mother to her son, Damon. She was preceded in death by Juanita A. King (Mother), Deacon Herman J. King (Father), Larry King (Brother), Damon King (Son), and Ryan King (Grandson). She is survived by her brothers, Dr. Herman King, and Dr. Mark L. King. and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Some would say, “She went to soon.” But you can be sure she would counter that by telling you, “My departure was right on time. Weep if you must, but not too long, for my soul is with the Lord.” She would acknowledge the Scripture that says, “Weeping only last for a night time, but joy comes in the morning.” But she would also add, “May it (our joy) come quickly! It’s alright now!”
