“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1
With deep love and gratitude, we announce the peaceful transition of Cheryl Denise “Cookie” Murrell, 70, who entered rest on November 17, 2025. Born the youngest of six to James and Katherine Grimes, Cookie was a bright spirit whose home, heart, and laughter nurtured generations. She loved her family, adored Diana Ross, and became a bonus mother to so many, always the welcoming place where kids gathered, stories were shared, and everyone felt seen.
Though she faced many illnesses, she met each challenge with courage and grace. Now, she rests in power, held by ancestors and remembered with unending love.
We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating her beautiful life, her strength, and the joy she gave so freely. In her honor, we encourage everyone to wear shades of blue.
