Sprowl Funeral & Cremation Care is compassionately serving the family of Deborah Ann McEwen who was born July 9, 1955 in Oxford, Mississippi to the late Nettie Mae McEwen and George Junior McEwen. Deborah attended and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1974. After high school “Debbye” began her career in apartment management. She was a manager at Weyerbacher Terrace Apartments and Beechwood Gardens for over 10 years. After she moved to Atlanta, GA she attended Gwinnett Technical College and became a geriatric medical assistant and a dialysis technician. “Debbye” returned to Indianapolis, IN switched gears and became a bartender at the Skyline Restaurant and retired in July 2020. Deborah professed a hope in Christ at an early age. While living in Atlanta, GA she enjoyed attending World Changers church. Deborah was a fashionista who enjoyed shopping for clothes and jewelry. She was labeled the Diva of the family because of her flamboyant apparel and took pride in being a lady. “Debbye” was also known for her beautiful smile that lit the room with her presence. Deborah transitioned this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the age of 65 years. She was precedent in death by his mother Nettie Mae McEwen, brothers Jeffond McEwen, Marvin Berry and George McEwen Deborah leaves to cherish her memories; brothers John Webb (Faristene), Omar Salahuddin (Zella), Jeffery McEwen (Nacy) and Christopher McEwen; sisters Lois Edwards (Jeff), Julee Cooper, Jayne Lewis (Edward), Joyce Berry, Demita McEwen and Khadijah Seck (Matar); a special niece/goddaughter Sydney Montgomery and a host of family and friends.
