Deputy Sheriff Tamieka White Obituary

"Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss.  Our thoughts are with you & your family during this difficult time." Sprowl Funeral

Sprowl Funeral and Cremation Care is compassionately serving the family of Deputy Sheriff Tamieka White, 46, End of Watch 5/9/ 2023.   A visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with the Celebration of Life to begin immediately following at 12:00 pm at Kingdom Apostolic Ministries located at 4900 East 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46218.

Tamieka Y. White was born on March 12, 1977, in Indianapolis, IN. As a child, she grew up in Florence AL where she became a fierce competitor in the sports of basketball, softball, and volleyball. Since her freshman year in high school, she started and played at the varsity level in all 3 sports. Her junior of high school she would take her talents back home to the city of Indianapolis, attended Arsenal Tech H.S. and received a scholarship to play basketball at Danville College in Illinois.

Being on a team as a leader all her life is what made her strong, caring, competitive, driven, and determined to win in all aspects of life. It also showed her what extended family was, as she would often take care of others around her and look out for their well being. To keep her competitive edge she took up playing pool, where she once again touched the lives of others, built meaningful relationships, and took her team to championships as team captain.

Tamieka would later join another family known as the Marion County Sheriffs Dept. She served 17 years on the MCSD and was deeply loved, respected and cherished by all those that she worked with. But her greatest love of all was her son Tristan Joseph White. The best thing to ever happen to her was the birth of her son. It was love unconditionally given and received. Her life found new purpose as she would work, protect, and provide for TJ.

Tamieka gave the ultimate sacrifice of love on May 09, 2023, as she laid down her own very life so that her son may have his to live. She was proceeded in death by her grandmothers Josephine White and Escille Cole , Grandfather Julius “Jazz” Cole, uncles Van and Victor Cole.

To cherish her memories are her son TJ, brother Mauricus and his wife Danielle, mother Veronica, father Larry, Aunts Sharon and Vernita, Aunt Caudle, Uncle Alan, Cousins Rod and Joey Cole and Andre Caudle, The Marion County Sheriffs Dept, and entire family in the pool community at John Waynes.
