Erik Christopher Neither, Sr., age 54, passed away on June 26, 2026. A devoted father, beloved brother, proud United States Navy veteran, and a friend dear to many, Erik will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, generous heart, and the lasting impact he made on everyone blessed to know him. His legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 5111 W. 62nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46268. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m.

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Erik Christopher Neither, our beloved brother. He was a fiancé to Courtney, a father, a grandfather, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend to so many he touched. He passed on June 26, 2026, at the age of 54. Erik's passing leaves a void that will not be easily filled and a trail of much sorrow in the process. He is surrounded by the love of his family in Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, Virginia, Illinois, and Texas. His unexpected departure will cause a ripple through the lives of his dearest family, friends, and associates from the many phases of his life until today. 

Erik was born on January 22, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the cherished son of the late Evelyn Francis Neither and Julius Robert Neither Jr. He was raised in a home filled with love and laughter, alongside his brother, Carl “KC” Clayborn (Sherri), and sisters, Patrice Bhatti, Lori Stevenson, Sonya Majors (John), Debra Armstrong (Mark), Demetria Neither, Lynnette Neither, and honorary sister, Melissa Mimms. He also has siblings from his father's second marriage who gave him love and laughter: Alexandria C. Neither, Julius Robert Neither III (Carla), Edward L. Zachary (Tomica). Erik's parents instilled in him values of kindness, resilience, and a tenacious spirit that would guide him throughout his life.  He was baptized and accepted Christ as his Saviors as a child and recently joined Mt. Pleasant Church as a member in 2024.  

Erik's early education took place at Jefferson Elementary and Lansdowne Junior High School, and he was a proud graduate of Lincoln Sr. High School in East St. Louis, Illinois. His inquisitive mind and passion for technology led him to pursue certifications and an associate’s degree in information technology through the University of Phoenix. He excelled in his field and had a creative presence online. He held various jobs in and out of his field of expertise. He would find a way to solve a problem, whether it was online, at home during a storm, or something needed just for fun. 

In 1991, Erik answered the call of duty and served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Foster, reaching the rank of E-4, Petty Officer 3rd Class, before concluding his service in 1994. His time in the Navy was marked by camaraderie, personal growth, travel around the world, and experiences he carried with him throughout his life. 

Erik was an entrepreneur at heart. He founded his own delivery trucking company while living in Dallas, TX. He believed in his professional growth and would later, with his beloved fiancée Courtney Stinnett, launch a successful photo booth company. Erik and Courtney shared a love story that began in 2021 on a dating app called Bumble. They had a memorable first date at Applebee's. Erik knew that Courtney was the one to share his life with forever, so on June 28, 2025, in front of his family at their family reunion in Las Vegas, NV, he asked for her hand in marriage. Their bond, marked by love, companionship, and sheer determination, was to be celebrated in marriage on June 28, 2026. That special year with Courtney by his side was one of the happiest times of his life. 

Erik's life was a journey. It was diverse and fulfilling. He had highs and lows, but he held his head high because he had the determination to never give up. He always found a way. He had a creative mind. He could design websites, art and had a great love for designing T-shirts for a multitude of events whenever the opportunity presented itself. He loved dragons and used them as his trademark in many of his business and personal ideas. He thought "dragon fire" would cure anything...

Family was the cornerstone of Erik's life. He was a devoted father to his three sons, Christian Neither, Erik Neither Jr., and Kaylan Glass, and a grandfather to Jayden, Kingston, Autumn, and Maziyon, who brought immense joy to his life. Erik was the life of every family gathering, known for his infectious laughter, generous spirit, and competitive nature. He treasured moments spent playing board games, card games, and dominoes with family and friends. He was always up for a new adventure. He would show up to win, whether it was skiing, ice-skating, miniature golf, or just gathering with friends to celebrate and have fun together. He loved a great time and often chose to celebrate his birthday with his special friends...Scooby, Frank, Martez, Marvin, Ju-Ju, Decky, Jermaine T., Jermaine B., Louise, and Shawn. For 40 years, this group of men was his ride-or-die friends for life!... He wouldn't have had it any other way.  

We will be celebrating Erik's life on July 11, 2026, in a manner befitting his honor and memory. We hope that you can be present with his family and friends to gather for the occasion to honor a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to his family to support the people and things he cared about most.

Erik Christopher Neither will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, his adventurous spirit, and his indelible impact on everyone he met. Although Erik is no longer with us, he leaves us a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience that will continue to inspire us until we see him again. We adored him and loved him for his genuine self. May he rest in eternal peace, forever in our hearts.
