“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

Sprowl Funeral & Cremation Care is honored to walk alongside this family during their time of remembrance and care.
Genette (Williams) Henard was born in Forest, Mississippi, on February 14, 1946, to James and Genvia Williams. She was the oldest of nine siblings, a role that shaped her life and character from an early age.
At a young age, Genette and her family relocated from Forest, Mississippi, to Indianapolis, Indiana, where the Williams family would continue to grow and establish deep roots in the community.
Genette confessed her life to Christ at an early age and developed a strong spiritual foundation that guided her throughout her life. A woman of deep faith, she worshipped at Murchison Temple CME Church under the leadership of her uncle, Rev. Lovie D. Brown. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and a quiet testimony that inspired those around her.
Genette dedicated her life to caring for others, both professionally and personally. She worked in food services and also found fulfillment as a housekeeper and caregiver. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her work. She found great joy in cooking, fishing, gardening, babysitting, and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to the boat and creating cherished memories with those she loved.
Genette’s love for her family was steadfast and enduring. As the oldest of nine siblings, she naturally stepped into the role of protector, nurturer, and guide. She was truly the glue that held the family together. Whether offering wisdom, lending a helping hand, or simply showing up when someone needed her, Genette carried her family on her heart and embraced that responsibility with pride and love.
On February 23, 2026, Genette passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing she began a new day in her heavenly home with her Father in glory.
Genette was the beloved matriarch of the Williams family and a source of strength, love, and guidance to all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Meeulonda Williams; her grandsons, Michael Wallace II and Sterling Wallace Sr.; her granddaughter, McKayla Noel; her great-grandsons, Sterling, Bishop, Jeremiah, and Nijhal Wallace; her great-granddaughters, Angel Wallace and Jordyn Clayton; her sisters, Mattie Williams and Hattie Moore-Bradley (Ron); and her brothers, Willie Williams, James Williams II (Tonya), and Steven Williams Sr (Valerie).
Genette was preceded in death by her parents, James and Genvia Williams; her daughter, Nattie Ann Williams; her sisters, Flossie Wright, Sarah Williams, and Ida Mae Stanley; her grandson, Marcus Williams-Wallace; her granddaughter, Najala Wallace; and her great-granddaughter, Kyndall Devonne-Faye Wallace.
As the oldest of nine, Genette set the example for her family through strength, faith, sacrifice, and unconditional love. She helped raise generations, held the family together through life’s challenges, and created a legacy that will continue long after her passing.
Her life was a blessing, her love was a gift, and her memory will forever live in the hearts of the family she so faithfully cared for.
Well done, thy good and faithful servant.
