Kenneth LaMont Batts, Jr

On Tuesday, June 30, 1992 Kenny entered this world and departed on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 28 yrs, 5 months and 18 days.

He was born to Nicole Thompson and Kenneth LaMont Batts, Sr. From the moment Kenny was born, he was ready to take on the world.  He was always full of energy and wanted to be front and center so that people would know who he was. He was the life of the party, always making people laugh and made friends easily.

At a very important time in his life, at the age of 13, Kenny’s father departed this world. This was a very difficult time for Kenny but he was determined to push through. Growing up Kenny played several sports and while attending The Metropolitan High School(The Met)  he played on their varsity basketball team.  Kenny loved playing basketball.   Later Kenny went on to participate in The Father and Sons program where he obtained his GED.  He recently passed the vehicle for hire test at the BMV and received his chauffeur license.   Before then he was able to drive fork lifts and worked various jobs including a warehouse where he had started orientation the day before his passing. 

Kenny accepted Christ at an early age and was raised and baptized in Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church where he was in the Youth choir and on the Jr usher board.  

First and foremost, Kenny loved his children and has been an excellent father from day one.  They had a very special bond.  To be around his family was a must for Kenny. Whether it was just getting together because it’s nice outside, family reunions, barbecues, birthdays, weddings, baby shower celebration or just to be around each other, Kenny wanted to be a part of it. 

Kenny was able to experience traveling to Bahamas, Key West, FL, Cozumel Mexico, Disney World 2 times, Disney Land, Wisconsin Dell and other states in the US.  He was very adventurous and loved amusement parks and roller coasters.

Kenny loved the Christmas holiday and was looking forward and excited to spend it with his children for the first time in their own place.

Kenny is now back together with his father Kenny, Sr,  his grandaddy Donald Mosley, cousins Roemello and Pooh and so many other family members.

Kenny leaves to cherish his memory until we see him again, his mother Nicole Batts Alvis (Kevin), children Kenneth LaMont Batts, III,  KaNiyah LaShae Batts and King Li’Rico Batts, maternal grandparents  Bubby and Gail Thompson, paternal grandmother Karla (Leroy) Parran, sisters TeeKeyah Benjamin and Heather Batts, nieces Kadence and Korryne and nephew Keaton, bonus siblings Kevin Jr, Kendale, Korey and Koria, aunts - BJ, Lola, Sheryl, Jenny, Lauren, Vicky, JoHelen, Carmen and Evelyn, uncles Lawrence and Donald,  and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Kenny is gone too soon but he will never leave our hearts.  However, God make no mistakes. The Lord gives us the right to make our own choices and even when those choices are not good, He continues to love and protect us.  He never leaves us. 

Isaiah 41:10 NIV So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  Amen.
